Abstract

The goal of the Shoe5.0 project is to prepare the footwear sector with the necessary skills to embrace the challenge of the transition towards a sustainable, human-centric and resilient industry, transcending efficiency and productivity objectives.
The development of a multilevel tailor-made upskilling and reskilling schemes and correspondent training contents and tools is in progress, which will support the implementation of i5.0 objectives towards a green and digital transition in footwear industry, making footwear factories places where creative and talented people can work and live a human, multicultural and personalized experience.
The project started by analysing the current integration of the i5.0 assumptions in the Footwear through an articulated desk and field research supported on a survey to 80 referential companies and focus group involving more than 50 companies and influencing stakeholders. The survey and focus groups were both held in Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Romania, scaled up to a pan-European perspective. These were the first steps to identify skills/competences mismatches and will support the design of customized training plans according to training needs, focused on the i5.0 transformation.
This presentation aims at sharing a set of Key Competences for the successful implementation of i5.0 assumptions in footwear industry, based on the findings and conclusions of the study, while doing an overview of the Shoe 5.0 project, its main objects and importance for the footwear sector.
